40 Mice Have Landed in Solva!
A boatload of mice have made their way to Solva on their ‘Big Cheese’ sailing boat. Under cover of night, they moored in the harbour and came ashore. Some stayed in Lower Solva, some went up the hill to Upper Solva and others have even ventured as far as Whitchurch. Where could they be hiding...? Pick up a free map from the Top Shop or Window on Wales and hunt them all! Or download a PDF map from the Solva Care website www.solvacare.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/the-mice-have-landed-in-Solva-ISSUE-2.pdf

Solva Care

Huge congratulations to Postmaster Gwyn Price of Bay View Stores, Solva for being nominated for the Post Office’s Local Hero Award for service to the community.

Gwyn and his team regularly put together ‘Cwtch Boxes’ for less fortunate members of the community, with items donated from their shop. During these difficult times, there have been many inspiring stories of businesses going the extra mile for their community and Gwyn is a fine example of this.

Best of luck in the ‘We’re Stronger Together’ awards!

What is Solva Care?

Solva Care is a registered charity set up by the community residing in the parish of Solva and Whitchurch in Pembrokeshire, Wales.

We are committed to building and sustaining a vibrant, strong and connected community, by working closely with our Community Council and other local groups and organisations.

Our aim is to maintain and improve the health and wellbeing of our community by enabling our residents to stay in their own homes and remain part of their community.  We do this by running a volunteer service to provide assistance where needed, as well as running social events to counteract loneliness and isolation; we also provide extra support for those caring for their relatives.

  • enabling residents to stay in their own homes and remain part of the community;
  • offering a way to counteract loneliness, isolation and social disadvantage,
